“Lesser-Silesian Suite 2023” — Joanna Zemanek and Grzegorz Sztwiertnia
The essential theme of the exhibition titled "Lesser-Sileasian Suite" is the border connecting (not dividing) the Silesian and Lesser Poland Voivodeships, which we located in the vicinity of the Soła River in the village of Łęki (the place of birth and adolescence of the author of the exhibition JZ) and the area of Cieszyn Silesia with the border on the Olza River (the place of birth and adolescence of the author of the exhibition GS).

‘12/75’ — Photography Exhibition on the Gallery Building’s Facade
Just as you enter the building that houses the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery in Katowice, you can see an exhibition entitled 12/75. Large format photographs by renowned Polish artists are presented in wall display cases alongside Aleja Korfantego street.

Apparently, there is no better cure for melancholy than browsing through atlases, which work like a healing substitute for a travel. Devoid of a physical effort, imaginary journeys usually end in the interior, no one's land, an undescribed location of uncertain and misty status.

27th Biennial of the Polish Poster – Regulations
Due to unpredictable pandemic circumstances and unfavourable financial situation – which means that we have to work with a limited budget – we have decided to introduce substantial changes to the Regulations.
The Language of Geometry. The Longevity of Art
The exhibition weaves together several pertinent topics. The main focus is on geometry, which different artists use in different ways. There are 56 participants representing nine European countries as well as the USA and Canada. Another important issue – and one which is stated in the title – is the longevity of the art.

As in previous years, we are proud to be contributing our part to the Winter in the City events. Although our Gallery is closed to the public, we are active online. Alicja Bielawska's sculptures go wavy and straighten out. On the one hand, they outline the shape of the ceased activities, having accumulated all their earlier movement, with loops, slaloms, ripples and bends. On the other, they accommodate the potential for further manoeuvres.
