TRANSLATIONS
Opening: October 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM
What does a work of art become in the digital age? Do digitalization and 3D technology usher in a new era of universal accessibility, or do they – paradoxically – strip an object of its unique materiality? Can an exhibition exist in multiple places simultaneously, transcend physical boundaries, and function beyond traditionally understood space?
The “Translations” exhibition serves as a platform for discussion and a space for experiment.
The focal point of the exhibition will be totems, structures constructed from 3D scans of artworks selected through our international Open Call. Created by artists from various corners of the world, these projects “teleported” to Katowice as digital data to acquire a new, physical form here. On one hand, this process demonstrates the extraordinary egalitarianism of art: transport, geolocation, or budget cease to be barriers. On the other hand, it raises questions about the status of the original versus the copy, and how a change of medium affects the emotional reception of a work.
We invite you to join us in observing these tensions between the virtual and the tangible.
We would like to thank all the Open Call participants and warmly invite you to the exhibition opening!

Daughters of Fear
A seven-member women’s artistic collective founded in Kraków in 2024. The group was formed in response to the pervasive patriarchal narrative in art. Over time, the collective’s practice has begun to explore a variety of themes and issues, while its feminist and queer perspective remains an integral part of its work.
The group comprises:
Kornelia Bolechała, Klaudia Kiełbasa, Amelia Jawień, Wiktoria Gajowiak, Daria Wing Krylova, Magdalena Pyla, Emilia Masny.
