Let us gather for the ADORATION… let us show that we are waiting, that we long for this encounter… Together, let us anoint and MASSAGE the cardboard shell behind which He slumbers so sweetly… Our Lamb.

Kissing a Rock

Warm? Sensual, rough-textured. Wild? Does it breathe? Does it kiss you, just as you kiss it?

The impossibility of coming into contact with the Lamb’s bare “stone”—its authentic surface—gives rise to passionate attempts to reach intimacy.

Much like the desires and dreams of “kissing” a collectively shaped institution, much like the efforts to restore overlooked body-positive performance practices from the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s to the archive. And, finally, much like dreams of genuine contact that lead to encounters with the oppressive cultural frameworks and walls that constrain sexuality.

Kissing a Rock invites pleasure as a tool for loosening oppression.

Tenderly, after massaging away the tension, we will arrive at kissing the stone.
