CLOSE – an exhibition by Basia Flores in the Small Space
Creating exhibitions is a process for me in which I tell my story to another person. I am inspired by literary texts, chosen words whose meaning or sound caught my attention. Thanks to my imagination, I try to translate words into images.
Basia Flores’s works have a certain warmth that soothes the senses. This makes me want to place them in an oneiric, peaceful realm that, unfortunately, will remain an utopian vision of my imagination.
The first time I saw Basia’s works was a few years ago when I was looking for a poster for my apartment. Browsing through pages with drawings, I stopped at one of them. The color, the characteristic, slightly exaggerated shapes that together created a complete story, caught my attention. Although the artist’s name was not unfamiliar to me, at that moment I did not think that our paths would cross in the future.
Today, we jointly invite you to view the exhibition CLOSE.
CLOSE is a visual story about relationships: with oneself, with another person, with nature, and also about the emotions that accompany us every day. It is also a story about the fact that what is the best solution for us is much closer than we think.
Curator of the Exhibition – Claudia Spałek
The vernissage will be held on February 8, 2025, at 18:00. Free entry! Join us.
The exhibition will run until March 9.
