Where to park?

The car can be parked at the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery (free and paid parking), in the Supersam shopping mall parking lot (paid parking).

Getting here by public transport

BWA Contemporary Art Gallery is easily accessible by public transport – most buses and trams from neighbouring towns (Chorzów, Sosnowiec, Bytom, Gliwice, as well as others) stop nearby.

Tram stops called Katowice Rondo (for lines nr 0, 6, 11, 13, 16, 19, 23, 43, 46) and Katowice Rynek (for lines nr 0, 6, 11, 13, 16, 19, 23, 43, 46) are only a couple of minutes’ walk from the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery.

There are two bus stops within 100 metres of the Gallery premises, including one called Katowice aleja Korfantego Stanowisko 1

By foot

Our Gallery is only a 10-minute walk from the Katowice main railway station. The shortest route starts from the Stawowa street towards the Supersam shopping complex, then towards the Superjednostka Unité d’habitation and until the Korfantego street, where you will see the gallery building with its characteristic frescoed facade.

The Gallery’s status and name changed in 2008 (from the Bureau of Exhibitions to the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery), as well as the logo. Its current form represents the Gallery’s two separate exhibition programmes, which are realised in the main exhibition hall and the so-called Small Space. The latter is particularly welcoming to emerging artists and this is where we have hosted year-long programmes called Accidental Pleasures (2009) and Women Replicants (2010), among others.
