Education in BWA Contemporary Art Gallery

Art expression workshops have been organised by the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery for many years within its programme of artistic education. This included classes for children and young people, school groups from Katowice and surrounding cities, as well as for individual persons.

The traditional schemes of art reception are discussed during the cycle of workshops, lectures, curator showing around, and curator-led tours, organised at the BWA Contemporary Art Gallery. Meetings are breaking the stereotype of contemporary art being incomprehensible and difficult to interpret. Developing in the audience the need of contact with art is based on a free form of meeting at the gallery (adapted to the age of the participants). Thanks to rejecting intellectual analyses in favour of using own sensations and feelings, art becomes a field of adventure for an open viewer.
